Your spare bedroom can fight climate change

Dear friends,

In about a week’s time, 30 low-carbon professionals will start arriving from across Europe to do one-month projects here in the West Midlands, all tackling climate change. Of course, they’ll need somewhere to stay – and where better than with somebody on their wavelength, like you?

Even better: instead of their money going to a faceless hotel chain, we can use it to fund local Transition-type projects such as urban farming and aquaponics.

"It can only be a good thing to stay with a real person than in an anonymous hotel. Through this scheme I was able to meet a very friendly, easy-going and generous host. It’s also great to meet somebody who has similar passions about climate change. I like the concept of paying money to a good cause rather than to the host, it makes the stay feel less formal." – John Mitchell, who participated as a guest

Thanks to the host’s generosity in lending their spare room, over £300 was donated to local charity Balsall Heath is Our Planet to support their ongoing environmental campaign work in the community.

If you have a spare room in September/October, please fill in this short form as soon as possible.

If you’ve got any questions, email me or give me a call on 07724 103945.

Cheers,

Jonathan Melhuish
