Summer Events

Dear friends,
We thought you’d like to know of events for families being run by Highbury Orchard Community over the summer. Here are the details – and please spread the word!.

Highbury Orchard Community is delighted to tell you about what is happening for families over the summer holidays.
"Woodland Play" is the new name for our year-long series of Forest Education events in Highbury Park, Moseley.
The events are aimed at children of primary school age and their parents.
Siblings or friends are also welcome, with up to three children accompanied by one adult.

We’d love you to join us, and please book first as spaces are limited for most events. You can do this by phoning Liz on 0121 628 2680 or email hoccic.

Sunday 28th July 2 – 4pm, Be Friendly to Bees! We are combining woodland crafts and games for children with volunteering to create a wildflower woodland at Henburys Wood in the park. This event is FREE, but please book first to help us provide enough materials for everyone.

Wednesday 7th August 10.30 – 3.00, Woodland Crafts, Fairies and Friends. As part of National Play Day, we have a bushcraft specialist in the morning, and are crafting a world for the little folk in the afternoon. We may also incorporate some more planting and sowing of wildflowers for the Foraging Necklace project if we have a volunteer to lead the tasks. This event is FREE, but please book first to help us provide enough materials for everyone.

Thursday – Saturday 29 – 31 August, 10.00 – 3.00 (Saturday 1.00 – 6.00), Summertastic.
This is the third year of Summertastic at Highbury Park. Each day will be packed with woodland challenges, games and crafts. This is a great way to make the last few days of the summer holidays especially memorable. This event costs £5 per person per day with a discount if you book all three days. Please book first to ensure your places.

Contact Liz to book your places either by phone 0121 628 2680 or by email hoccic.
The meeting place is always at the children’s play area by Henburys Wall, Highbury Park.
We very much hope to see you at one or more event.

Please send this message around your own mailings, and look out for more Woodland Play news next month.
