Cara Luft concert at Kitchen Garden Cafe 19 June

Dear Transiiton friend
Here is information about a great exclusive musical event, rasing money for a local charity, the Eve Brook Scholarship Fund. All details below

Cara Luft

Canadian folk singer and former Wailin’ Jennys founder member
is performing at the Kitchen Garden Cafe, York Road, Kings Heath
19 June 2012 at 8 pm
(doors open from 7.30, when drinks and snacks can be purchased)

Tickets £8 in advance available from WeGotTickets
A limited number of tickets will be available on the door, £10
Advance booking advised

The concert is in aid of the Eve Brook Scholarship Fund
a charity for young people who have been in care with Birmingham City Council
to enable them to access and succeed in higher education

Cara is a "singer-songwriter extraordinaire from a Canadian folk roots tradition, who really connects with her audience and is not afraid to bend the rules on the way", and she’s coming to the UK to promote her new album "Darlingford" ( available from June), so this is an opportunity to hear her perform these new songs for the first time.

She will be supported by ex-Not So Young vocalist and lead guitarist, Dave Johnson, our "local Canadian", now playing with local bands The Terrapins and Golden Glass, both of whom will be performing at the Moseley Folk Festival at the end of August. Dave will be performing a short solo acoustic guitar set of his favourite material, self-penned and covers.

We are sure you will have a great evening for a great cause, so please come along
to support the EBSF and hear some really interesting music
(With apologies for cross-posting, Angela Cooper and Colin Nimmo)
