“Birmingham’s edible forest”, Millennium Point, 23 April, 2-3.30pm
Research seminar with Nick Grayson, Climate Change and Sustainability Manager, Birmingham City Council.
Nick is interested in the issue of food security, and how the City’s planning approaches, such as the Big City Plan, can encourage urban agriculture and related sustainability activities.
Kings Heath Transition member Theresa Haddon adds: "I’m not sure if Nick Grayson will be mention anything about the news I received yesterday that Birmingham Council are looking at creating Urban Farms in all their parks."

‘Hustings’ – a local debate involving all 5 parties; Green, UKIP, Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats.
Its happening at 7.30pm at the Baptist Church – opposite ASDA on Kings Heath High Street.

Birmingham Friends of The Earth Curry Night Fundraiser
Birmingham FoE campaigners are hosting a curry night fundraiser and social at Bay Leaf restaurant in the Custard Factory on Thursday the 26th April. The evening will be an opportunity to meet campaigners, support our work and have a great night out. Fundraising is an important part of what we do and without it we wouldn’t be able to bring about the environmental changes we are all striving towards.
Tickets are £20 for a 3 course meal with £10 going to cover the restaurants costs and £10 going directly to Birmingham Friends of the Earth.
The menu for the evening is:

-Chicken Tikka Tamarind
A choice of the following
Lamb with fresh spices ,cooked with tomatoes, onions, green peppers completed with fresh green chillies to give it a slight kick.
Chicken Tikka Masala
Succulent pieces of breast tikka chicken cooked in a rich ,creamy sauce.
Paneer Tikka Bhuna (V)
Indian cheese spiced lightly and pan fried then cooked in a spicy Bhuna sauce.
Vegetable Bhuna (V)
Vegetables cooked with onions, tomatoes, selected spices and garnished with herbs .
Chocolate brownie with ice cream
The evening will begin with a drinks from 7pm, to be seated for 7:30pm.
