Kings Heath Green Deal Meeting

Hi there

This is an update about the Transition Green Deal meeting next Tuesday at 6.30 pm. Due to a mix-up with the Kitchen Garden Cafe, the meeting will now take place at the Hare and Hounds pub (upstairs room), just across the road on the corner of the high street. We are still able to provide the buffet and drinks, and we look forward to seeing you at 6.30 on 20 March.

Dear Kings Heath Transitioners,

I am writing to let you know about another meeting we are holding next Tuesday evening in the Kitchen Garden Cafe, 20 March at 6.30 pm.
This is a follow-up to the recent offer of a free Energy Assessment on your property.

Many of you have already taken up this offer and had an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) done on you house, and some of you are still waiting for your EPC. The response to the offer has been excellent and requests are still trickling in a month after we first publicised it. We will follow up all the requests but it is just taking a bit of time.

We have now been able to start offering personalised advice to those of you who have had your EPC done, about what the EPC is telling you about your property, and the most effective measures to take to improve your insulation, and we hope these advice sessions (in groups of 4 or 5) will also prove helpful to you. The first one is tonight at 25 Springfield Road, B14 7DU, at 7.30. If anyone is interested in coming along to that session, phone Angela on 07587089191 to see if there are any places left.

Next week’s meeting will give further information about the scheme, to anyone who has not yet heard about it, but more importantly, it will provide information about different methods of paying for the insulation work, if you do decide to go ahead and get it done. Solid wall insulation, and double glazing are not cheap procedures, but they will undoubtedly be effective in making your homes warmer and cheaper to heat, and of course, they will also cut your carbon footprint, and that ultimately, helps everyone.

Thanks for reading this message. We hope to see you at the Kitchen Garden Cafe next Tuesday evening.
We are offering a complementary glass of wine and a finger buffet, to tempt you along.
