How should “Birmingham Energy Savers” deliver the Green Deal?

Birmingham Energy Savers is the the city council’s project to deliver the "Green Deal", which is the government’s financing scheme to enable households and businesses to install packages of energy saving technologies, e.g. insulation, at no upfront cost. It will make properties more fuel-efficient straight away with repayments made over time from reduced energy bills.

They’d like our input on how they should promote the scheme and what role we want to play. They’re running two events, one on the morning of Monday 6th February, and on the following evening – see invitation for details. RSVP directly to them but if you Bcc: me, I’ll make sure we meet up at the event.

Also, if you can’t make either meeting but have something to input, please let me know and I’ll make sure your views are represented. This will be part of an ongoing discussion about how we want to engage with the Green Deal as a group, but if we take this opportunity to input now, our ideas are more likely to be included when the scheme launches in the Autumn.
