Resources from last night’s Energy event

Hi,

Thanks to those that came along last night, particularly to our speakers. I know some of you couldn’t make it but don’t worry, we’ll keep you in the loop. Most of the projects don’t have websites I can link you to yet, but there’ll be more info available soon.

I’ve attached the Neighbourhood Energy Plan for Balsall Heath that John Newson was discussing (along with a 4-page summary for those of you in a hurry). The question is – should we do something similar for Kings Heath? John Newson has just received some funding that will allow him to spend a bit of time working with us on it. Let us know if you might be interested in getting involved, we can meet and how we take it forward.

We also heard from Luke Olly of Northfield Eco Centre, who are right now launching a Green Deal pilot project for the Energy Saving Co-operative. This seems like an excellent opportunity to remove the financial barriers we all face and help Kings Heath invest in warmer homes and lower bills. Even better, we get to work with a provider that has Transition values at heart. The consensus in the room last night was that we should support this initiative, so watch this space – we’ll get you more details as soon as we have them.

Cheers,

Jonathan (secretary)

I fully support the proposal to work with Jon on a kings heath plan. It should help to identify opportunities and coordinate activities to get best results. Linking.g up with KH Residents Forum would be very useful on this.
