KHTI receives city award for 9Carrots work

We were surprised and delighted last week to receive an award from Birmingham City Council and Birmingham Environmental Partnership during Climate Week 2011 and presented by Rob Hopkins of Transition Network. It is a Making Birmingham Green Community Award and is largely in recognition of activating the 9Carrots scheme in Birmingham. The scheme was founded by KHTI member Jonathan Melhuish.  It helps retailers reduce their carbon emissions by converting to low-energy products on their premises while expanding their customer base. For more information about the scheme, see http://kingsheath.9carrots.org/

Congratulations Jonathan and everyone who has volunteered to promote 9Carrots. Many thanks also go the great body of people who have taken part in any of the KHTI activities over the past 18 months and helped KHTI make an impact in the community!
